PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photodegradable crosslinking agent which can easily produce a photodegradable gel and is applicable to a wide range.SOLUTION: The photodegradable crosslinking agent 1 includes: a main chain 2 comprising polyethylene glycol; a photodegradable nitrobenzyl 3 disposed on both end sides of the main chain 2; and an active ester group 4 disposed on the end side of the nitrobenzyl 3. The active ester group 4 has responsiveness to an amino group or a hydroxyl group.
