PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling an electrical machine.SOLUTION: The method comprises a step of commutating a phase winding of the electrical machine at a time after a first edge and at a time after a second edge of a rotor-position signal. The time after the second edge is defined using the average period between edges of the rotor-position signal and the period between the first and second edges, namely, by adding the average period between edges of the rotor-position signal to the time after the first edge, and subtracting the period between the first and second edges. Additionally, a controller and a control system that implement the method are also provided.
