PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery of a long life suppressing an elution element especially a precipitated material of the elution element from a negative electrode from reaching a positive electrode to make the negative and the positive electrode conducted and cause short circuit.SOLUTION: The nickel-hydrogen secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode 1, a negative electrode 2, a separator 3 interposed between the positive electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2, and an electrolyte solution. At least one part of a surface out of a separator 3 surface opposing to at least the negative electrode 2 has an oleophilic region 3s.
