PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnesia-chrome refractory excellent in corrosion resistance and extending the service life of a furnace body without a risk of erosion by copper oxide (I) (Cu 2 O) contained in a copper smelting solution even when it is applied to the furnace body of a copper smelting furnace or a continuous copper metallurgy furnace, and to provide the copper smelting furnace and the continuous copper metallurgy furnace. SOLUTION: The magnesia-chrome refractory is used in the copper smelting furnace controlled so that CaO and SiO 2 in a slag satisfy CaO/SiO 2 ≥0.11 (mass ratio), and is baked at a high temperature of 1,550°C or higher.
