PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial device and an antibacterial method which can efficiently and properly carry out an antibacterial process of an electronic equipment at low cost. SOLUTION: The antibacterial device M1 includes a medicine applying part B1 arranged in a body F1 to which the electronic equipment T is detachably set and having a medicine application surface 25 to which a medicine C including an antibacterial component is applied without impregnation; and a medicine spreading member S1 for spreading the medicine C in the medicine application surface 25. Further, the antibacterial device M1 includes a first spacer 18 and a second spacer 35 for supporting the electronic equipment T to be set to the body F1 in a position separating from the medicine application surface 25. The medicine spreading member S1 includes a medicine smoothing part extending to both ends of the medicine application surface 25 in the transverse direction of the medicine application surface 25. The medicine C dropped in a drop form on a drop receiving part 17 is diffused along the medicine smoothing part, and then, spread on the medicine application surface 25 by virtue of slide displacement of the medicine spreading member S1.
