PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute correction for monochrome or color in appropriate timing. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus for which a first mode for image formation using toners of plural colors including a black toner and a second mode for image formation using only the black toner can be set, includes: a first printing cumulatively counting means that cumulatively counts a number of pages for which image forming has been executed by using the toners of plural colors; a first printing decision means that determines whether the number of pages counted by the first printing cumulatively counting unit has exceeded a threshold; and a correction control means that controls not to execute a correction processing for image formation that uses the toners of plural colors but to execute a correction processing for image formation that uses only the black toner, when the second mode has been set, when the first printing decision means has determined that the number of pages has exceeded the threshold.
