PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smelting method for economically efficiently recovering tin by supplementing insufficiency of an iron content in slag, in dry type tin smelting method using tin-containing scrap as the raw material. SOLUTION: The method of smelting tin uses tin-containing scrap as the raw material, adds flux and a reducing agent to the tin-containing scrap to performs reduction refining, separates the produced metal tin from the slag and recovers the separated metal tin. In the method, copper smelting slag is used as the whole or a part of the flux, and copper smelting slag is blended in such a manner that the content of FeO in the slag formed by the tin smelting becomes 20 to 50 wt.% in a composition in which the total content of CaO-SiO 2 -FeO is expressed in terms of 100 wt.%.
