PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently obtaining a high-concentration saccharified liquid from seaweed biomass. SOLUTION: The method for producing the saccharified liquid comprises: a step of dehydrating the seaweed biomass to prepare the biomass having a water content of 10-70 wt.%; a step of cutting off the resultant dehydrated seaweed biomass; and a step of preparing the objective saccharified liquid containing monosaccharide(s) by hydrolyzing the resultant seaweed using a hydrolytic catalyst and/or hydrolase.
