PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize a plasma display panel capable of a high quality display in a high definition fine discharge cell having a small barrier rib width.
SOLUTION: The plasma display panel includes a front plate and a back plate disposed face to face with the front plate so as to form a discharge space. The barrier rib 24 of the back plate 20 is composed of a longitudinal barrier rib 24a disposed parallel with an address electrode and a lateral barrier rib 24b disposed so as to cross the longitudinal barrier rib 24a. In the longitudinal barrier rib 24a and the lateral barrier rib 24b, when the height at the crossing portion 24c of the longitudinal barrier rib 24a and the lateral barrier rib 24b is set as H1, the height at the location of the discharge gap of the display electrode of the longitudinal barrier rib 24a is set as H2, the height at a specific location between the location of the discharge gap of the longitudinal barrier rib 24a and the crossing portion 24c of the lateral barrier rib 24b is set as H3, and the height of the center portion of the lateral barrier rib 24b is set as H4, the longitudinal barrier rib 24a satisfies H1≥H2≥H4≥H3 in shape.
