PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optically active cyanohydrin compound. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the optically active cyanohydrin compound comprises causing aluminum chloride to react with an optically active bisoxazolylpyridine compound represented by formula 1 (wherein R 1 and R 2 are the same or different and are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group, and the like, provided that R 1 and R 2 are not the same) to obtain an asymmetric complex and subsequently causing an aldehyde compound to react with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of the asymmetric complex and a silyl compound.
