PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cancer preventing and treating agent containing an antibody or its fragment, acting on various cancers, specific to cancers and showing no side effect, based on the findings that the antibody binding to CD98 forms a dimer on the cancer cell surface with LAT1 to specifically attack the CD98-expressing cancer cell by an immunological system of ADCC and CDC and further inhibiting the LAT1-mediated amino acid intake by the cancer cells to inhibit the proliferation of the cell. SOLUTION: Provided are a human antibody and a functional fragment of the human antibody binding specifically to CD98 which is originated from the cell membrane of cancer cells and forming a complex with a protein (e.g. LAT1) having amino acid transport activity.
