PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a center-to-center distance so that a rolling stock is always held by guide rollers at a prescribed pressure. SOLUTION: A method is directed to adjust center-to-center distances among two sets of paired guide rollers 3, 4, which are arranged in a rolling guide device G for guiding a rolling stock, by a center-to-center distance adjustment mechanism 7. The positional adjustment of a cylinder rod 6a of a drive cylinder 6, which comes into contact with and separates from the adjustment rod, is performed by an adjustment rod 20, to which driving force is transmitted through an adjustment screw 19 from a servomotor 13 in a remote-controllable driving motor part 5. The center-to-center distance adjustment mechanism 7 is operated through the movement caused by the positional adjustment of the cylinder rod so that the center-to-center distances among the paired guide rollers 3, 4 are adjusted according to the rolling stock. Thus, when the paired guide rollers 3, 4 hold the rolling stock, the load applied to the guide rollers is absorbed by the drive cylinder 6, and the center-to-center distances are maintained while controlling the pressure.
