PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up printing and to provide a high-resolution image. SOLUTION: A liquid discharge apparatus is provided with: (a) a head having a plurality of nozzle groups arranged at a predetermined interval in an arrangement direction crossing a conveying direction of a medium and discharging liquids: (b) a medium conveying mechanism for conveying the medium in the conveying direction; (c) a moving mechanism for moving the nozzle groups in the arrangement direction; and (d) a controller for forming a plurality of dots on the medium, in such a way that it forms a first dot by a certain nozzle of the nozzle groups, makes the moving mechanism move the nozzle groups, following the conveyance of the medium, while it forms a second dot next to the first dot in the carrying direction by the certain nozzle, and forms a third dot in a position different from the first and second dots in the arrangement direction by the certain nozzle.
