PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: it is not easy to quickly disconnect only a video recording and playing back apparatus from a television receiver and play back video contents using a different display device in a different place or record the video contents received by a different television receiver at a carrying place since the video recording and playing back apparatus is integrated with the television receiver or is connected with the television receiver by a cable or the like even when the video recording and playing back apparatus is separated from the television receiver.
SOLUTION: The video recording and playing back apparatus is equipped with: a slot for mounting a large capacity removable hard disk; a reception part for receiving digital broadcasting signals; a control part for recording the digital broadcasting signals received by the reception part into the removable hard disk mounted on the slot as the video contents; and an output terminal for causing an external monitor to display the received digital broadcasting signals or the video contents recorded in the removable hard disk.
