PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a motion control characteristic such as suppressing vibrations of a moving member by using the liquid in improving a water-proof and dust-proof structure realized by liquid in a liquid pool which blocks off internal and external portions of a device.
SOLUTION: A clearance 30 is formed between a static member 10 and a moving member 20. A liquid pool 13 is provided in a potion corresponding to an entrance of the clearance 30. A high-viscosity liquid LQ is held in the liquid pool 13. An apical end 21 of the moving member 20 moves with itself immersed in the liquid LQ. The liquid LQ blocks off the internal and external portions of the device, enabling foreign matters to be prevented from entering therein. Due to the high viscosity of the liquid LQ, vibrations generated in stopping a motion of the moving member 20 can be suppressed. Further, a damping operation becomes better to improve the motion control characteristic of the moving member. Furthermore, by changing the viscosity of the liquid LQ by applying a voltage thereto, low-viscosity is realized in the motion of the moving member and when stopping the moving member, high-viscosity is realized. As a result, the motion control characteristic of the moving member can be improved.
