PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an image blur correcting device having a mechanism which mechanically locks a correction optical system.
SOLUTION: The image blur correcting device 182 includes: a correction lens 31; a holding mechanism 28 for holding the correction lens 31 movably within a predetermined movable range on a plane orthogonal to the incident optical axis of the correction lens 31; a driving part 22 for driving the holding mechanism 28; a locking mechanism 60 for setting the holding mechanism 28 to a locking state where the correction lens 31 can not move and a locking release state where the correction lens 31 can move within a movable range; and an image blur correction control part 23 for controlling the operation of the driving part 22 and the locking mechanism 60. The image blur correction control part 23 switches the driving state and the non-driving state of the driving part 22 during switching operation of the locking state and the locking release state in the locking mechanism 60.
