PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-saving terminal that uses other radio means than that for ordinary communication to validate a radio communication function of an opposite communication terminal when a communication necessity state comes and to invalidate the radio communication function when not required to save power.
SOLUTION: The power-saving terminal 11 with a sleep mode wherein only parts of its own components are active, includes: a radio circuit section 40 for periodically applying detection processing to a received radio wave and detecting a wakeup signal with a prescribed radio wave strength and a prescribed time length through the detection processing; and a microcomputer 50 that starts the other components than the parts of the components above when the radio circuit section detects the wakeup signal and provides an operation instruction so as to bring the sleep mode into an active mode wherein data communication is available.
