PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a high temperature by avoiding temperature nonuniformity in cooking space that uses the heat exchanger of a petroleum combustor.
SOLUTION: A hot-air type heater has a burner 2 and a combustion chamber 3 within a frame 1. A lower heat exchanger 5, exhaust communication cylinders 6, 6a and an upper heat exchanger 5a are provided on top of the combustion chamber 3 to create a cooking space 7 surrounded between the upper and lower heat exchangers 5a, 5 and the exhaust communication cylinders 6, 6a. A windscreen 8 for blocking air from a fan 4 installed on the back face of the frame 1 is disposed between the fan 4 and the cooking space 7. The windscreen 8 comprises a back plate 8 covering the fan 4 side of the cooking space 7 and a side plate 8b whose tip is connected to the exhaust communication cylinders 6, 6a. A heat-retaining plate 10 extending forwards from the back plate 8a of the windscreen 8 is provided on each side of the cooking space 7 via the exhaust communication cylinders 6, 6a and a gap 9 to create a heat-retaining space 11 surrounded by the heat-retaining plate 10, the exhaust communication cylinders 6, 6a and the windscreen 8. The heat-retaining space 11 is kept at a high temperature by heat radiated from the exhaust communication cylinders 6, 6a, and a temperature difference in the cooking space 7 is eliminated by the heat of the heat-retaining space 11 whereby the cooking space can be maintained at a high temperature.
