PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a force measurement apparatus of a small type and simple structure provided with minimal invasiveness.
SOLUTION: An optical converter for detecting the force such as rotational force or lateral force activating on the optical converter is provided. For detecting the force here, optical signals 4a and 4b are transmitted through the light path defined by optical fibers 2a and 2b. Further, as the result of the force activating to optical means 3, optical means 3 adapted to change the transmittance of the optical signal passing through the light path is provided. Next, the optical signal generated as the result is output from the converter is used for detecting the force activating to the converter.
