PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light reception amplifier circuit which can prevent oscillation in clip operation and can freely set a clip voltage, in the light reception amplifier circuit comprising a clip circuit. SOLUTION: The light reception amplifier circuit comprises a photo-diode 1, an operational amplifier 20, a conversion resistor 11 provided between an output terminal of the operational amplifier 20 and an inverted input terminal thereof, and a clip circuit for clipping an output voltage of the operational amplifier 20 to a predetermined value. The clip circuit comprises a PNP transistor 12 which detects a change in the output voltage of the operational amplifier, and a voltage source 14 connected to a base thereof and if the PNP transistor 12 is turned on as increasing the emitter potential of an NPN transistor 9 connected to the output terminal of the operational amplifier 20, a voltage of the voltage source 14 is applied to the output terminal of the operational amplifier 20 via the PNP transistor 12 and the NPN transistor 9.
