PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for collecting a subscriber's viewing and listening pattern and information about media distribution system used.
SOLUTION: The method and system for tracing a subscriber's use of the media distribution network of bidirection that distributes programming to the set top box connected with a screen display are disclosed. In this system, each application forms an event record containing ID, event, and time stump of application. The collected event record is saved temporarily, compressed, and divided per packet, and is sent to an integrated processing unit, and there the event record and content data showing a programming distributed through the network are unified. The event record and content data form an event temporal recording of each subscriber's set top box, and it shows the subscriber's activity or the program executed by the subscriber over a certain selected time.
