PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of flare light by applying matting to the vertical surface of a diffraction grating in a diffractive optical element having a blazed diffraction grating whose cross-section is worked into a sawtooth waveform.
SOLUTION: In the molding die for diffractive optical element, only the vertical surface of a blazed diffraction grating part is turned into a minute structure by forming the film of a carbonaceous film composed of two layers having different surface roughness. The matting is carried out to the vertical surface of a diffractive optical element by transferring such a shape to a molded product.
