PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic body with continuous pores that is formed of a polyurethane and can instantly absorb water, to provide a production process suitable for the elastic body with continuous pores and to provide a water-absorbent roller and a water-absorbent swab produced using the elastic body with continuous pores.
SOLUTION: The elastic body with continuous pores is formed of a polyurethane; has a pore structure of a three-dimensional network constituted of skeletons of the polyurethane wherein the skeleton has an average thickness of 20 μm or less and 80% or more of the skeleton has a thickness in a range of 2-20 μm; has a bulk density of 0.2-0.4 g/cm
3 ; and contains a surfactant having an HLB value of 8 or more. The process for producing the elastic body with continuous pores comprises the water extraction step of extracting a pore-generating agent from a molded product comprising the pore generating agent with water.
