PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively control termites under the floor of e.g. a wooden structure or in a park. SOLUTION: A termite control layer is formed in a target area by using a powdery or particulate curable termite control composition comprising a hydraulically curable substance and soil or sand and/or a termite controlling agent. It is also possible that the soil or sand is composed of a gravel component and a fine particle component. The gravel component/fine particle component ratio (by weight) may be approximately 99.9/0.1 to 5/95. It is also possible that the fine particle component is composed of a sand component and a soil component. The sand component/soil component ratio (by weight) may be approximately 99/1 to 10/90. The curable termite control formulation may further contain an antibacterial component, deodorizing component, a moisture-controlling component, etc. In a method for controlling termites, the curable termite control composition is applied to a target area, and at least water is applied to the applied curable termite control composition to form a termite control layer.
