PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controllable motion damper having a damping piston for mutually separating two damping chambers in a damping cylinder and a damping valve arranged in a connecting passage of these two damping chambers, and capable of controlling permeability of the damping valve to a damping liquid built in the motion damper by a control part.
SOLUTION: Both damping chambers 12 and 13 are filled with an electromagnetically uninfluenced damping liquid. The control part has a sliding piston mechanism 21 filled with a magnetic viscous fluid. The sliding piston mechanism 21 has a sliding piston 22 joined in the force action to a damping piston 10'. The sliding piston 22 acts on an operation part connected to the damping valve 15 via the magnetic viscous fluid influenced by a magnetic field generator 30 controllable on fluid resistant in itself.
