PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light wavelength-multiplexed network and apparatus therefor using an AOTF with high reliability and cost performance.
SOLUTION: When configuring an OADM device in an OADM system, an AOTF 10 is used. The AOTF changes a frequency of an RF signal to be applied, to select an arbitrary wavelength. An optical signal of a specific wavelength can be dropped out of wavelength-multiplexed optical signals from an input, or a wavelength-multiplexed signal inputted from an add port can be multiplexed with a through optical signal. In such a case, however, while taking into account that a coherent crosstalk becomes greater, it is realistic to use the AOTF only for dropping in a real apparatus configuration. Otherwise, in the other method, the drop optical signal is branched by a photo-coupler, and a wavelength is selected in a tributor station, so that the wavelength selected in the tributor station can be extracted from the through optical signal by the AOTF.
