PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gravure coating applicator capable of performing uniform coating application by maintaining a chamber internal pressure at a specified set pressure value by subjecting the chamber internal pressure to feedback control even if the variation of the chamber internal pressure is small or great.
SOLUTION: The pressure detection value of the internal pressure of a chamber 14 of coating a gravure roll 12 with a coating liquid is subjected to feedback control so as to attain the set pressure value by controlling the opening of a valve 40 of a venting pathway 40 when the pressure detection value varies by more than the set variation value on the basis of the set pressure value and by controlling the pumping amount of a pump 30 for pressure-feeding the coating liquid when the value varies within the set width.
