PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head disk tester which prevents a magnetic head from colliding against a spindle hub of a magnetic disk.
SOLUTION: The tester is provided with a base, a spindle for rotatably supporting a magnetic disk, a cartridge for supporting the magnetic head provided with a magnetic write/read member and a double stage locating system for moving the cartridge to an X-axis and Y-axis intersecting orthogonally with each other. A magnetic head support, the magnetic head and the magnetic write/read member have a common longitudinal axis A. The head support is located with the longitudinal axis A in the predetermined angle from 0° to 90° with respect to the X direction. More adequately the angle is about 45°.
