PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection detecting device for equipment with a UART interface which can be held small in circuit scale since a new signal is needed to detect equipment with UART being connected and is also reducible in current consumption since detection can be performed by placing only a detecting means in operation. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a grounding means comprising a pull-down switch 13 and a resistor 20 which ground a UART receive signal 10 on a pull-down basis and a detection part 14 as a detecting means of detecting equipment with UART being grounded and reporting the connection.
