PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge concentrating device which can efficiently perform a solid-liquid separation and concentration of a large quantity of sludge produced in a sewage disposal plant without depending on sludge properties.
SOLUTION: The sludge concentrating device comprises: a sludge tank 8 storing sludge; a filtering means 15 having an endless belt filter cloth 18 revolving around upper and lower rollers 16, 17 with at least the lowermost roller 16 immersed in the sludge; a washing means of filter cloth 18; a filtrate chamber 11 having a filtrate inlet 14 close to the filter cloth 18 and a weir 13; a sludge distributing tank 23 serving as a means for introducing sludge into the sludge tank 8 and disposed in the vicinity of the upper end of the filtrate inlet 14; a concentrated sludge discharge tank 25 serving as means for discharging concentrated sludge from the sludge tank 8 and disposed in a position substantially opposed to the sludge introducing means with the filter cloth 18 interposed therebetween; and a rectifier 29 serving as a uniform sludge feeding means for feeding sludge into the sludge tank 8 uniformly widthwise of the filter cloth 18.
