PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary tampon of absorbing and expanding quickly. SOLUTION: A sanitary tampon is that a flat absorption body 2, which is made of an absorption layer having absorbable fiber material, and a hydrophobic permeation layer of covering the absorption layer, is used and is formed by shaping the flat absorption body 2 cylindrically. Multiple small hollow parts 3, which extend to the inside of absorption layer, are formed on the absorption layer that forms flat absorption body 2. The speed of absorption of blood and the speed of expansion of tampon are quick for this tampon. As the blood is led to the center part, it decreases the color of blood on the surface of tampon and it is hard to give a discomfort feeling.
