PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a thin extruded shape, in which the high temp. state just after extruding is applied for a solution treatment and is unnecessary to newly execute the solution treatment after extruding and the strength is equal to that in the case of newly executing the solution treatment which is obtained only by an ageing treatment. SOLUTION: A thin extruded shape having an average thickness of =520 deg.C at the inlet of the cooling vessel 11 and quenched into the cooling vessel 11 at a cooling rate of >=150 deg.C/min. As the aluminum alloy, an aluminum alloy containing 0.4-1.0% Si, 0.01-0.5% Cu, 0.4-1.1% Mg, 0.05-0.25% Cr, 0.01-0.05% Ti, 0.0001-0.01% B and, if necessary, 0.05-0.2% Zr and/or 0.05-0.45% Mn and regulated to
