Techniques reducing energy emissions of a service used by a user, wherein the method comprises the following steps:
• Requesting a service by a user equipment towards a network;
• Determining operational units that are required to run the service along with associated parameters requested for the service;
• Retrieving operational energy data of the service, wherein the operational energy data comprises information of the energy consumption and/or of the respective energy source;
• Comparing the operational energy data of the service with an energy profile and creating an energy report based on the comparison;
• Providing the energy report by signaling means of the UE to the user, providing the energy report to the operating system of the UE, to a QoS adapter and/or to an App of the UE that provides the service;
• Changing the operational units and/or the associated parameters of the service based on the energy report to reduce the energy emission of the service.
