The invention relates to a liquid colorant comprising
a) 5-65 wt% of a pigment
b) 0-30 wt% of a filler
c) 3-25 wt% of a surfactant
d) 20-80 wt% of water
e) 0.1-0.6 wt% of a polyguanidine biocide
f) 400-6000 ppm of a iodo-preservative
wherein the ppm and wt% is relative to the total weight of the liquid colorant and
wherein said liquid colorant does not comprise isothiazolone.
