A method and device for controlling a mobile terminal, and a mobile terminal are provided. The method includes the following. An input operation of a user on a screen of the mobile terminal is received. An operation area is determined according to a position of the input operation on the screen. Power consumption of a target area other than the operation area is reduced, where reducing the power consumption of the target area includes reducing an image resolution in the target area or reducing power consumption of layers corresponding to the target area.
