The invention relates to a method for determining the density of a process air circuit of a cold-air air-conditioning, wherein the cold air conditioner has a cooling turbine having a compressor and an expansion turbine that is disposed in the process air circuit, wherein a motor is provided for operating the compressor and wherein the compressor, expansion turbine and motor via a common shaft are connected, wherein a calibration is performed, in which a plurality of characteristics of a component of the cold air conditioner under various conditions are determined, wherein the determined characteristic curves are stored, and the stored characteristic lines are used in a test run to determine the tightness of the process air circuit. The invention further relates to a system comprising a cold-air conditioner and a control unit associated therewith, for performing such a method and a vehicle comprising such a system.
