A straddled vehicle having a failure detector with improved accuracy in the detection of a failure of a temperature sensor is provided. A failure detector (93, 94) detects a failure of a temperature sensor (72, 75) based on at least one signal of the temperature sensor (72, 75), at least one generated heat amount-related parameter, and at least one dissipated heat amount-related parameter. The generated heat amount-related parameter relates to an amount of heat generated in an engine unit and influencing the temperature of a detection target of the temperature sensor (72, 75) and further relates to a state of the straddled vehicle. The dissipated heat amount-related parameter relates to an amount of heat taken away from the straddled vehicle as the straddled vehicle runs and influencing the temperature of the detection target of the temperature sensor (72, 75) and further relates to an environment of the straddled vehicle.
