Embodiments of the present invention provide a liquid crystal grating-based optical switching apparatus, including an input collimator 101, an input polarization beam splitter 201, an input quarter-wave plate 301, a liquid crystal grating 4, an output quarter-wave plate 302, an output polarization beam splitter 202, and an output collimator 102. A transmission path is selected for an optical signal by changing a voltage of a liquid crystal grating, so that the optical signal is output to a selected output end. Such optical switching apparatus with low costs has a simple structure and a small size.
