In order to reduce the achievable operating times of an electrical operated friction brake while at the same time keep the friction brake cost, an electrically operated friction brake is a by an actuating device (10) actuated brake pad (3), wherein the actuating means (10) for braking of a spring is driven and an electric actuator (12) holds the friction brake (1) open, so in case of power failure, the spring actuates the friction brake (1), wherein the actuating device (10) includes a first transfer member (5) connected to the brake pad (3) is connected, and a second transmission member (8) with a lifting curve (17) are provided and on the first transmission member (5) a coupling element (15) is provided, wherein on the coupling element (15) a sensing element (14) is arranged, the lift curve, the (17) scans the action of the spring for the actuation of the first transmission member (5).
