A method and apparatus for coupling a number of utilities (146) between a first system (601) and a second system (603). A first coupling unit (612) associated with a utilities unit (606) may be mated with a first corresponding coupling unit (616) associated with the first system (601) to create a first interface (624). The first interface (624) may be activated such that a second interface (626) between a second coupling unit (614) associated with the utilities unit (606) and a second corresponding coupling unit (618) associated with the second system (603) can be deactivated.
