Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Diagnose eines Gegenstandes wie eines Katalysators (15) oder eines Filters. Um eine besonders genaue Aussage über eine Funktion des Katalysators (15) zu erhalten, ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, dass zur Messung einer katalytischen Reaktivität eine Stirnseite des Katalysators (15) mit einem Prüfmedium mit definierter Zusammensetzung wie Propangas oder Kohlenmonoxid mittels einer Einrichtung (2) durch eine Öffnung (5) beaufschlagt wird und an einer stromabwärts gelegenen Position eine Konzentration von zumindest einem reduzierten oder oxidierten Bestandteil des Prüfmediums nach Passieren des Katalysators (15) gemessen wird.

The invention relates to a method of diagnosing a subject as a catalyst (15) or a filter.
