The invention relates to a shock absorption device arrangement for a motor vehicle, wherein at least one shock absorption element (14) is arranged between a shielding skin (10) and a structural crossbeam (12), a play (J) capable of enabling assembly operations is provided between the absorption element (14) and the crossbeam (12). Within said clearance, a play take-up means (18), supported by a wall (16) of the absorption element (14), is arranged between the absorption element (14) and the crossbeam (12) so as to limit the deformation of the shield skin (10) when it is subjected to a moderate force while enabling the assembly operations. Said device is characterized in that the play take-up means (18) is a tab that is resiliently deformable in the median plane (P) and having a first end connected to the wall (16) of the absorption element (14) and a second free end remotely extending along the wall (16) and retained stressed against the absorption element (14).
