It is presented a method for determining a coupling condition of a hybrid vehicle. The method comprises the steps of: detecting a first rotational speed curve (15) of an electric motor (3); Detecting a second rotational speed curve (13) of an internal combustion engine (1); Comparing the first and second speed characteristic at a first time; while this comparison provides a first value; Determining a second value by applying an analytic function to the first speed curve (15); Determining a third value by applying the analytical function to the second rotational speed curve (13); Comparing the second and the third value; while this comparison provides a fourth value; Outputting a first signal in the event that the first value is below a predeterminable first threshold value and the fourth value is below a predeterminable second threshold value; Outputting a second signal in the case that the first value is below the predetermined first threshold value and the fourth value is above the predetermined second threshold value.
