A delivery system for delivering and deploying stents having proximal apices includes a guidewire catheter (620) having a curved distal end and an interior extending along a longitudinal axis and a stent graft releaseably fixed to the curved distal end of the guidewire catheter. The delivery system can include an apex release catheter having a distal end and being slidably disposed about the guidewire catheter, and an apex capture device (634). The delivery device can further include an apex release catheter, an apex capture device, an outer catheter, an intermediate catheter (654), a prosthesis delivery sheath (652) a handle and a nose cone (632).
