The invention relates to a refrigerant compressor (1) comprising a hermetically sealed housing (9) in the interior of which operates a drive unit (11) which compresses refrigerant and which is mounted by means of an arbitrary number of spring elements (4) on a mounting region (10), which is preferably arranged on the housing base (6), of the housing (9), wherein a first end region (4a) of the spring element (4) surrounds a peg-shaped upper mounting element (7) which is arranged on the drive unit (11), while a second end region (4b) of the spring element (4) surrounds a peg-shaped lower mounting element (8) which is arranged on the housing (9). To reduce a possible lateral deflection of the drive unit (11), it is provided according to the invention that end regions (5, 6), which face toward one another and are surrounded by the spring element (4), of the two mounting elements (7, 8) overlap one another in the axial direction of the spring element (4) when the drive unit (11) is in the mounted position.
