In order to adapt refrigerant piston compressors having a bolted-on cylinder head so that an energy-efficient redesign of the construction cylinder cover-valve plate-cylinder housing is possible, wherein the changes on the construction necessary for this purpose are simultaneously minimized, it is provided that a first clamping element (11), which is screwed into the holes (5), is provided, which presses the valve plate (7) in the area of at least one section of the piston hole wall (14) against the cylinder housing (1) and has a bias tension in the direction of the valve plate (7) in the bolted-on state.
