The present invention relates to a single-band multi-standard power amplifier module (10) for amplifying a radio frequency signal within a predetermined frequency band, comprising a driver amplifier (12) and a final amplifier (14), a first biasing unit (22) for biasing the driver amplifier (12), a second biasing unit (24) for biasing the final amplifier (14) and a switching unit (30) for selectively by-passing the final amplifier (14). The invention further relates to a transmitter comprising said single-band multi-standard power amplifier, a base or mobile station comprising said transmitter and a method for operating said single-band multi-standard power amplifier module.
