The invention concerns an object tracking camera, comprising an image detecting unit for generating image data, and a processing unit for processing the image data transmitted by the image detecting unit to the processing unit. The invention is characterized in that the processing unit comprises a zone-of-interest selecting unit for selecting interesting image zones in terms of object tracking, and a tracking unit for determining object tracking data using the image data. The invention also concerns the use of said camera, for example for surveillance purposes using multiple cameras.
