Ein Drehschalter in einem Kraftfahrzeug umfaßt einen Mittelteil und einen Außenteil. Der Drehschalter umfaßt ferner einen Rastmechanismus, der zwei an den Mittelteil gekoppelte, radial nach außen vorgespannte Rastpins (26) und eine im Außenteil gebildete Innenkontur (34) umfaßt, die Raststellen für die Rastpins (26) definiert. Der Mittelteil ist feststehend und der Außenteil drehbar, wobei an den Außenteil ein Steuerteil gekoppelt ist, das die Drehbewegung des Außenteils direkt in eine Kontakteinheit (16) überträgt. Die Rastpins (26) sind an den beiden Enden einer Schraubenfeder (24) angeordnet, die in einer diametralen Führung (22) aufgenommen ist.

A rotary switch in a motor vehicle includes a central part and an outdoor part. The rotary switch further comprises a latching mechanism, the coupled two at the center part, radially outwardly biased Rastpins (26) and an inner contour formed in the outer part (34) which defines the detent positions for the Rastpins (26).
