A coated cutting tool (20) that comprises a body (22) containing a pocket (24). The tool further includes a polycrystalline cubic boron nitride blank (25) that is brazed into the pocket (24) using a braze alloy. The braze alloy has a liquidus temperature of at least about 900 degrees Centigrade. There is a coating (30) applied to the cutting tool.
